The hotel is conveniently situated for exploring all that the beautiful and historic city of Venice has to offer. The famous Piazza San Marco (or Saint Mark's Square) is just a pleasant 10-minute stroll away. Alternative, you could take a relaxing boat ride down the Grand Canal in a Vaporetto, one of Venice's motorised waterbuses. You can enjoy Venice and admire its beauty even more from the water, as you pass underneath its 2 famous bridges, Rialto and Accademia. In just a few minutes, you will arrive at the heart of Venice, the Palazzo Ducale (or The Doge's Palace). This gothic palace was the residence of the Doge of Venice and was the symbol of the Serenissima Repubblica di Venezia (or The Most Serene Republic of Venice). This Italian state originated in the city of Venice and existed for one thousand, one hundred years, from the 8th century until the 18th century (1797). This extraordinary building has a bell tower, a clock tower and superb panoramic views of the San Marco Basin.
