The Giudecca Island with its Venetian churches used to be the residence of the Doge of Venice and is easily reachable on foot. Piazza San Marco and its Basilica are just 0.6 miles away, the same distance of the most famous attraction in Venice: Palazzo Ducale (Doge's Palace). This 15th century Palace is an impressive building in pink and white marble. The Grand Canal, also close to the hotel, is Venice's main water through fare, lined with great Renaissance and Byzantine palaces. Teatro La Fenice, one of the most famous theatres in Europe and the main opera house of Venice, is even closer.
